Shiatsu Bodywork
Shiatsu is a Japanese massage therapy utilizing a combination of pressure and assisted stretching techniques to maintain and promote health. Practitioners of Shiatsu apply pressure to acupoints, located all over the body. Once the proper flow of energy is restored, the body can begin its natural healing process and bring relief for most ailments. Shiatsu is performed on a floor-based futon and the client remains fully clothed. Shiatsu stimulates the circulation and the flow of lymphatic fluid, releases toxins and deep seated tension from the muscles, stimulates the hormonal and immune systems, and acts on the autonomic nervous system allowing deep relaxation and restoration.
